Chanel Revive

Balancing style with Eco

Challenge

Unarguably, Chanel is one of the world's leading global fashion houses epitomizing luxury, style and elegance.
Chanel's vision is for fashion to be functional, with a mission:

"To be the the ultimate house of luxury, defining style and creating desire, now and forever..."

How do we innovate against Chanel's core values of being classic, elegant, timeless, exclusive whilst interlacing masculinity and femininity?
How can we create fresh, innovative products for new markets whilst maintaining Chanel's luxurious quality, uniqueness and classic class against the growing threat of hight costs, counterfeit item's and competitors capturing market share?
Combining the classic aesthetics and internal ethos of the Chanel's brand with fresh insights and opportunity areas within sustainability.

Value

As one of the more notorious fashion brand's that is synonymous with classic style and chic, how do we balance this out with sustainability and use it to create a new attitude, a new persona
The Chanel Revive is about giving a second life to waste.   What we see as trash that is worthless can be turned into a personality lifestyle product which becomes a keeper extending the life cycle and usage.
The Chanel revive has a bespoke patterned outer which is unique to the production method where by waste labels of certain colours are collated and partially melted together to give a marbling effect.   Each container is different from the next and no 2 will ever be the same.   Different variants of labels correspond to a different colour palette  prodding a subtly vibrant spring/ summer range.
A refreshing take on a new design language revitalising the brand and reviving the packaging whilst striving for a better and brighter future.   The lipstick can be change once finished and a new refill can be inserted.   The Refill product is hygienically sealed and fresh with every purchase.  The packaging for the refill is recycled aluminium, foil sealed, which is the most abundant and eco friendly metal on earth at a relative low cost.   the pack can be recycled afterwards infinitely.   This will result in 95% reduction in energy usage than using virgin aluminium.
Over all the pack has the potential to have the lowest carbon footprint in Chanel's range.
