Challenge

The first generation of Activote's were very simple, with very few buttons for students to use in class as a teaching aid.  As the digital age has progressed a digital and smarter device was need and thus the 2nd generation was born.
The challenge was to to come up with a design that student could easily adopt and transition to.  With the semantics of mobile phones in 2007, this inspired the semantics that would become the Activote 2.

Value

Consumer's had already established semantics of using mobile phones with large screens, the popular blackberry's in 2007 inspired the layout of the Activote 2.  This played on the already established habituals gestures that students were already familiar with.   The form is inspired by the brand and aesthetics established in the 1st gen Activote with a far superior functionality, engagement factor and a more sophisticated 'tech' look.
